Simba Muhwati - Simba Muhwati's journey from Zimbabwe to play squash in the United States was no easy venture. By the time Simba was 20 years old he was already a well known squash player throughout Africa. When Simba was initially recruited by American universities however, he was faced with various obstacles in obtaining the required student visas. Poor communication outlets in Zimbabwe only made the situation more difficult for Simba. Yet when faced with adversity - true champions prevail. Simba is a relatively new pro at CCS&F that brings high levels of intensity and energy teaching the sport that he loves.

If you could give only one piece of advice to a new squash player, what would it be? "My dad always said there are only three shots you should play in squash: Drive, drop, and lob."

Squash: The Fusion of Athletics and Academics
As high school students prepare themselves for the college application process, they might want to keep the following piece of information in mind; squash is considered one of the foremost sports used in college recruitment today. While squash is one of the most heavily recruited sports for the NCAA, it is not nearly as popular as other high school sports. Squash has essentially become a hidden gem of sorts - providing access for those who play into some of the nation's top colleges and universities.
Check out the following news report Channel 5 conducted earlier this year about the connections between squash and college recruitment.
